Yao Shufen Died Due to Long-Term Harassment

Yao Shufen, female, 81, lived in Xiangyang Village, Shengyu Township, Nongan County, Jilin Province. Ms. Yao started practicing Falun Gong in 1996 and experienced increased health. After July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, the police often harassed and intimidated her, and ransacked her home numerous times. Her son and daughter, who are both Falun Gong practitioners, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and were detained. Officials extorted of 5,000 and 6,000 Yuan from them, respectively, and then sent them to labor camps.
