Feng Guoqiang, male, 36, lived in Majiagou area, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. In late 2001, Mr. Feng was distributing Falun Gong materials with his father and brother, both of whom are also Falun Gong practitioners. He was arrested for this simple act. Mr. Feng was then detained at the No. 1 Detention Center in Tangshan City, where the guards tortured him when they tried to force him to renounce Falun Gong. Several months later he was transferred to the Kaiping District Brainwashing Class to be further persecuted. On top of physical and mental torture, officials extorted over 10,000 Yuan from him. When he was released, he was extremely weak, and never ended up recovering. Mr. Feng passed away on January 19, 2005.
