Mr. Ma Zaoling, male, was over 70 years old, and was a Falun Gong practitioner from Xinji City, Hebei Province. After he started practicing Falun Gong, he became healthy in both body and mind. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, he was threatened and harassed many times. Because his daughter insisted on practicing Falun Gong, her company dismissed her from her job. She was detained and imprisoned on numerous occasions. The harassment of Mr. Ma and his family severely harmed his body and spirit. He died in February 2003.
