Ms. Cui Suzhen, female, 61, resident of Shenze County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, was detained in the Shijiazhuang Labor Camp because she practices Falun Gong. On April 8, 2001, Ms. Cui was transferred to the Gaoyang Labor Camp in Hebei Province. Because she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, she was force-fed human excrement on three separate occasions, and afterwards suffered from serious diarrhea. The guards had to send her to the Gaoyang County Hospital for emergency treatment. The attending doctor was shocked when he found out what had happened; he pointed out that feeding a person human excrement in that quantity can cause death in as many as 50 percent of the cases. After Ms. Cui was sent back to the labor camp, despite her critical condition, the guards beat her continuously, crushed her nipples, shocked her with 2-6 electric batons simultaneously while pouring water onto her, used pliers to pinch her flesh, and buried her in snow until she passed out. Her entire body became covered with black and blue bruises from the torture. Ms. Cui is still being detained in the labor camp and is tortured daily.
